Professional Biography
Nathan Tolman embraces compassion, integrity, and life celebration in all aspects of his endeavors. His personal and professional background has allowed him to observe and participate in many life situations that have led him to where he is today. As an African-American growing up in rural Colorado, Nathan was adopted by Caucasian parents at a time when interracial adoption had barely become legal in the United States. Four of Nathan's six siblings are multi-racial and were adopted from highly challenging circumstances domestically and internationally.
Through this, Nathan has developed a deep appreciation for how unique we are as individuals and has tremendous compassion for people from all walks of life and on many different paths. He takes great pride and joy, witnessing personal growth and development so that each individual finds herself or himself continually deepening into their best and most comfortable skin. This, Nathan genuinely considers being his greatest asset, which is transferable to all of life's pursuits and situations.
Nathan's professional background features an extensive history of work dedicated to working with individuals in a variety of settings, including private Coaching, non-profit organizations, and community alliance programs. Additionally, Nathan has experience working with at-risk adolescents and their families. He has hands-on experience working in the areas of conflict management, anger management, relationships, and group facilitation.

Nathan received his coaching certification at New Ventures West™, located in San Francisco, CA. Regarded as one of the top coaching certification programs in the country, the New Ventures West™ program requires intensive onsite training spanning 12-months. Following the training course, veteran coaches continue annual ICF certification courses. Upon completion of the course, Nathan spent the following year undergoing the process firsthand taught by one of the program facilitators. This proved to be an invaluable and life-enhancing experience.
Nathan currently resides in the San Francisco, CA area with his wife of 22 years.
